In this third of 5 “Best of” posts, recapping 2017 in sneakers, I am going to focus on new models only. As with all of these posts, I am only going to talk about sneakers I actually own – if I had to include every possible sneaker I would never be able to write these posts.
#3: Nike Vapor Max. Like most sneakers on these lists, I was obsessed with these from the moment I saw pictures of them. I resisted buying for a couple of months because I was waiting for the right colourway. When I saw the Be Trues, I knew they were the ones. My earlier blog post goes into a lot of detail on why I love them. They are comfortable and fun to wear and that is what makes them number 3 on my list.
#2: Adidas Yeezy 700 Wave Runner. Opinion on these is rapidly changing. Many people who found them ugly are now starting to see the appeal. Chunky runners forever!
#1: NikeLab Zoom Fly. I only have the NikeLab version but I think this sneaker, in this colourway is clearly the best new shoe released in 2017. They are beautiful, clean and future looking. They feel amazing on foot – no other shoe has ever made me feel like running as much as these. The Zoom Fly is a performance shoe that is eminently wearable in a regular fit. They are perfection.
