What are they: Ronnie Fieg has a long history of collaborations with Asics, mostly using different colour blocking (vs. patterns or other choices). These sneakers from 2015 combine highlights from the entire history of that collaboration. They dropped all of a sudden online and were too $$$ at the time. Resell prices were crazy for a couple of years.
Why do I want them: I have one pair of KITH Asics Gel Lyte IIIs and I like them a lot. They are comfortable and the split tongue is a unique feature and lets be real here, I am never going to be able to get all the KITH Asics I obsess over. This seems to be the next best thing? I also like weird/loud shoes and these are weird AND loud.
The good news is prices have been dropping recently making acquiring these almost possible. My resistance is crumbling every week and I expect to pull the trigger in 2017. Maybe that makes them not a grail but when the resell prices were above $1k they definitely were!
